Blokmakers is a film production house built around one obsession: what it means to be human, and how strange that turns out to be.

Every project starts from a genuine curiosity about people. Who they are, what drives them, and how they manage to live alongside everyone else, on this planet, in this particular mess of a century. We tell those stories absurdly, humorously, almost carelessly light, until the joke turns, without warning, into something critical, or something that simply breaks your heart.

We like that whiplash. Life tends to have it too. And showing that to an audience is our motivation to produce films.

We've spent years curating the right makers for the right stories, not by chance but on purpose. That patience is what lets us aim beyond the obvious: not only national success, but international titles — films that live exactly where arthouse meets commercial, and refuse to pick a side.

Our protagonist Andrea has a big secret. Within the safe walls of her home, she smears herself in ketchup — an ecstatic, intimate ritual her colleagues must never find out about. But when she's confronted with the red sauce at work one day, she can no longer resist the urge. This unmasking lands her in an unexpected place, where Andrea's path crosses with a figure from her past: Tobi, her former manager, in whom the echo of the ketchup incident still resonates, years on. This debut lingers on the question of what society accepts — and where.
