Cult is an independent Dutch film production company based in Limburg, developing and producing both artistic documentaries and high-end commercial films. We work at the intersection of cinematic storytelling and contemporary visual culture. Approximately half of our slate consists of director-driven documentary projects, while the other half includes carefully crafted commercial and branded films.

Rooted in the South of the Netherlands, we combine a strong regional identity with a broad production practice. We believe strong authorship and production precision can coexist. By bringing together artistic integrity and a flexible production structure, we create films that move between festivals, cinema and commissioned contexts.

Cult operates from Limburg and collaborates with a network of directors and creative partners across the Netherlands.

GEDRAAG OW, our debut documentary, delves deep into the heartbreaking story of Guus Janssen, a friend to everyone, who fell victim to senseless violence during Carnival 2022 in Horst. In this poignant documentary, we follow four friends who each had a unique friendship with Guus. We see how they try to cope with their loss in their own way and transform their grief into something beautiful.

In I AM: KLOFAMA, we follow 22-year-old hard techno DJ Mats van Biljouw, who unexpectedly breaks through on international stages from Horst in North Limburg. While tens of thousands of fans see him as an icon, the film explores how he, rooted in the down-to-earth Limburg mentality, remains mentally and creatively intact in a world that is fast, loud, and demanding.
