NAPA proudly (re)presents Dutch producers and their new films and projects. Many of our producers have extensive experience with international co-productions and are always interested in broadening their horizons. From the Netherlands at Cannes 2025

Dutch cinema has a very strong presence on the Croisette this year!

Reedland is set to world premiere in competition in Cannes Critics Week. Two out of the nine works presented in the Immersive Competition are from the Netherlands: Lacuna and From Dust. The Dutch minority co-productions Two Prosecutors and The Secret Agent are part of the main Competition, and minority co-produced animated short Water Girl is one of the contenders in the Official Selection Short Film Competition.

Sonja has no memory of the crucial moment in her early childhood that saved her life. The discovery of three long-lost rings spark a riveting journey into imagination. Wander through a deeply personal VR documentary between what is left and what is lost.



The Secret Agent by Kleber Mendonça Filho / Official Selection Competition

Brazil, 1977. Marcelo, a technology expert in his early 40s, is on the run. He arrives in Recife during carnival week, hoping to reunite with his son but soon realizes that the city is far from being the non-violent refuge he seeks.


Water Girl

Mia has spent her whole life freediving, fishing and gliding through seaweed and rocks. Time has passed, tracing its lines on her body, and shaping the landscapes around her. Loved ones have vanished. Tonight, Mia remembers.
